Overview
Registered in 2000, 'Bonnie's Bounty' is a medium-sized hosta of unknown parentage. Its most distinctive feature is the combination of a dark green leaf center with a broad, intensely blue-green margin that is slightly rippled, creating a strong bicolor effect.
In the Garden
'Bonnie's Bounty' forms a dense mound 17 inches (43.2 cm) tall and 42 inches (106.7 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions or as a specimen in shade gardens. It performs best in partial to full shade, where the blue-green margin color is most pronounced. The broad leaves and substantial size pair well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Bonnie's Bounty' is susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
