Overview
Registered in 2016 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Praying Hands', 'Bohemia Praying Clown' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its dark green leaves heavily streaked with yellow, complemented by narrow, heavily rippled gold margins. The lance-shaped leaves are deeply twisted, wavy, and moderately folded overall, with a slightly shiny upper surface and very shiny underside.
In the Garden
With an upright habit reaching 15.75 inches (40.0 cm) in height and spreading to 19.69 inches (50.0 cm) in diameter, this cultivar is suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It tolerates typical hosta-growing conditions and, like its parent 'Praying Hands', exhibits good sun tolerance and slug resistance. Companion plants with contrasting foliage textures or colors complement its upright, twisted leaves.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. While slug resistant, monitor for deer browsing in areas where deer are present.
