Overview
Registered in 1991 by H. & D. Benedict, this self-pollinated seedling of *Hosta* 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa' produces a medium-sized clump of heavily textured, blue-green foliage. The leaves are distinguished by their cordate base, dark blue-green margins, and substantial dimensions of 8 inches (20.3 cm) long by 7 inches (17.8 cm) wide, with 12 vein pairs.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a dense mound reaching 15 inches (38.1 cm) in height and 31 inches (78.7 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for mid-border positions in partial to full shade. Its blue-green foliage pairs well with yellow or chartreuse-leaved companions such as *Hosta* 'Sum and Substance' or *Hakonechloa macra* 'Aureola'. The plant's moderate size also suits container culture in shaded patio settings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer climates, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as shoots emerge. Like most blue-leaved hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, though its thick leaves offer moderate resistance.
