Overview
Registered in 1982 by G. Harshbarger, this medium-sized hosta is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa'. It is visually distinctive for its green leaves with pale chartreuse margins, a color pattern that persists through the growing season.
In the Garden
'Hosta 'Blondie' reaches a mature size of 14 inches (35.6 cm) in diameter and 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height, with leaves 8.5 inches (21.6 cm) long and 7.5 inches (19.1 cm) wide. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for border fronts, woodland gardens, or shaded containers. Its medium stature allows pairing with ferns, heucheras, or smaller shade perennials.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs may damage foliage, and deer will browse the plant; monitor accordingly in typical hosta-growing zones.
