Overview
Registered in 1983 by Paul Aden, this small hosta cultivar is a hybrid distinguished by its bright metallic yellow leaves with narrow, pure white margins. The ovate leaves are lightly cupped and moderately corrugated, with dull surfaces on both sides and six vein pairs per leaf.
In the Garden
'Hosta 'Blessings' forms a compact, slow-growing mound reaching 6 inches (15.2 cm) in height and 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter. Its small size makes it suitable for rock gardens, container plantings, or the front of shaded borders. It pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, or woodland groundcovers in partial to full shade.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug damage and may require protection from deer in areas where they are present.
