Overview
A sport of *Hosta* 'Golden Wheels' registered in 2001, 'Bewitched' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its green leaves with gold margins, a crisp color contrast, and subtle shadings. The broadly ovate leaves, measuring 7 inches (17.8 cm) long and 6 inches (15.2 cm) wide, are moderately corrugated and puckered, with a slightly shiny upper surface and dull underside.
In the Garden
Reaching a mature height of 9 inches (22.9 cm) and a spread of 14 inches (35.6 cm), 'Bewitched' performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas. Its slow growth rate and compact dimensions make it suitable for the front of borders, woodland gardens, or shaded rockeries. Companion plants such as ferns, heucheras, or small shade-tolerant perennials complement its low, mounding habit.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, this cultivar may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
