Overview

Registered in 1993, *Hosta* 'Bells of Edinborough' is a small variegated cultivar derived from a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Rim Rock'. It is visually distinctive for its medium green leaf margins with a satiny upper surface sheen, rounded leaf bases, and seven pairs of veins per leaf.

In the Garden

This compact hosta reaches approximately 14 inches (35.6 cm) in height and is suited to partial to full shade, typical of the genus. Its small size and tidy habit make it appropriate for rock gardens, container plantings, or the front of shaded borders. It pairs well with other small perennials such as ferns, *Heuchera*, or *Tiarella*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in dry spells. Apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed.
