Overview
Registered in 2003 by L. Willet, *Hosta* 'Belinda' is a large, mound-forming cultivar notable for its nearly round, cupped leaves with greenish-yellow, slightly rippled margins and a bright gold central coloration. The foliage is corrugated and slightly shiny above, dull beneath, with 15 to 16 vein pairs per leaf.
In the Garden
'Belinda' reaches a mature diameter of 50 inches (127.0 cm) and a height of 20 inches (50.8 cm), forming a dense, moderate-growing mound. It performs best in partial to light shade, typical of most hostas, and its slug-resistant, corrugated leaves make it a durable choice for woodland borders or shaded beds. The bright gold foliage pairs well with darker-leaved perennials such as ferns or *Heuchera* cultivars.
Care Notes
Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges; the cultivar's noted slug resistance reduces the need for pest management, though deer may browse if present.
