Overview

Registered in 1996, *Hosta* 'Banana Muffins' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually defined by its cordate leaves of green with light green to medium gold, slightly rippled margins, and a dull surface on both sides.

In the Garden

'Banana Muffins' forms a compact, mound-like clump reaching 20 inches (50.8 cm) in height and 24 inches (61.0 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones and pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, or woodland perennials. Its small size makes it appropriate for rock gardens or the front of a border.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even soil moisture, particularly during dry periods. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed as needed.
