Overview

Registered in 2015 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Baby Booties', this miniature cultivar was originated by M. Zilis and registered by J. Schwarz. It forms a compact, fast-growing mound of small, broadly ovate leaves with cordate bases, medium green flat margins, and a dull upper surface with a slightly shiny underside, creating the visual impression of a cluster of baby's toes.

In the Garden

'Hosta 'Baby Toes' reaches a mature height of 7 inches (17.8 cm) and spreads to 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or troughs. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for variegated hostas, and pairs well with other miniature perennials such as *Heuchera* or *Tiarella*. Its small size and mound-like habit also make it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor foliage and apply control measures if necessary.
