Overview

Registered in 2009 as a sport of a seedling of unknown parentage, *Hosta* 'Autumn Ridge' is a small-sized cultivar notable for its thin, upright form and distinct creamy white leaf margins. The ovate leaves are yellow with flat, creamy white borders 0.5in (1.3cm) wide, and exhibit moderate twisting, folding, and waviness with light corrugation.

In the Garden

Reaching 12in (30.5cm) in height and 18in (45.7cm) in diameter, 'Autumn Ridge' is suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container cultivation. It performs best in partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones. The dark purple petioles at the base, along with purple coloration on scapes and seed pods, provide subtle contrast; companion plants with similar light requirements, such as ferns or heucheras, complement its compact habit.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Standard slug and deer precautions are advisable, as with most hostas.
