Overview
Registered in 2014 by an unknown breeder, *Hosta* 'Angel from Montgomery' is a small-sized cultivar distinguished by its medium green leaves with narrow, flat, yellow margins. The broadly ovate leaves, measuring 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) long and 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) wide, exhibit a slightly shiny upper surface and a dull underside, with six to seven pairs of veins and a lightly wavy margin.
In the Garden
This cultivar forms a compact, fast-growing mound reaching 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height and 18 inches (45.7 cm) in diameter, making it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. It performs best in partial to full shade, as is typical for hostas, and pairs well with small ferns, heucheras, or other shade-tolerant perennials of similar scale. Its small size and neat habit also make it an appropriate choice for troughs or small pots.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so monitoring and protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
