Overview

Registered in 2000, *Hosta* 'Amy's Hope' is a sport of *H.* 'Norwalk Chartreuse' that forms a small, upright clump with greenish-yellow leaves edged in creamy white. The foliage is distinguished by its slightly rippled margins, rounded leaf bases, and contrasting surface textures—slightly shiny above and very shiny beneath.

In the Garden

Reaching 9 inches (22.9 cm) in height and 14 inches (35.6 cm) in diameter, 'Amy's Hope' is suited to the front of borders, rock gardens, or small shade beds where its compact habit and variegated leaves can be appreciated at close range. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs well with other small hostas, ferns, or woodland perennials such as *Heuchera* and *Tiarella*. Its small size also makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain even moisture, particularly during dry spells, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protection from slugs and deer may be necessary in garden settings.
