Overview
Registered in 2006, *Hosta* 'All that Jazz' is a giant cultivar distinguished by its large, heavily textured blue-green leaves with wide, yellow, slightly rippled margins. The upright, vase-shaped habit and horizontally held foliage create a bold architectural form, with leaves measuring 13 inches long and 11 inches wide, featuring 13 pairs of veins and a very shiny upper surface.
In the Garden
This cultivar reaches a mature spread of 46 inches (116.8 cm) and height of 30 inches (76.2 cm), making it suitable as a specimen or focal point in partial to full shade. Its tall, upright scapes, reaching 39 to 42 inches (99.1 to 106.7 cm), bear green flowers in midsummer. Companion plants include ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials that contrast with its bold foliage.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. While moderately resistant to slugs due to its thick leaves, monitor for damage in damp conditions; deer may browse the foliage in typical hosta-growing zones.
