Overview
Registered in 1991 by B. Banyai and R. Solberg, 'Twist of Lime' is a miniature sport of *Hosta* 'Lemon Lime' distinguished by its narrow, lanceolate leaves with dark yellow-green centers and darker green margins. The foliage measures 3 inches (7.6 cm) long and 1 inch (2.5 cm) wide, with three vein pairs, and the plant forms a compact mound 6 inches (15.2 cm) tall and 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter.
In the Garden
This miniature hosta performs best in partial to dappled shade, where its variegation remains most pronounced. With a mature spread of approximately 10 inches (25 cm) and height of 6 inches (15 cm), it is well suited for rock gardens, troughs, and container cultivation. Its small scale makes it an effective edging plant or groundcover in shaded borders, and it pairs naturally with other miniature hostas or small shade perennials such as *Heuchera* and *Tiarella*.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season and apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur and should be managed through routine monitoring and appropriate barriers.
