Overview

Registered in 1989 by V. Heller and P. Banyai, 'Tweeny' is a miniature hosta of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its very small, variegated leaves with medium green margins and a lighter center, forming a compact mound.

In the Garden

With a mature diameter of 4 inches (10.2 cm) and height of 2.5 inches (6.4 cm), 'Tweeny' is suited to the front of a shade border, rock gardens, or trough plantings. Its diminutive size makes it an excellent candidate for container culture. It pairs well with other small woodland perennials such as miniature ferns or creeping Jenny.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Tweeny' is susceptible to slug and deer damage in typical hosta-growing zones.
