Overview
Registered in 1995, this miniature hosta cultivar originated from a cross between a seedling of *Hosta* 'Kabitan' (pod parent) and a seedling of *Hosta* 'Herifu' (pollen parent). 'Tucker Tiny Tot' is distinguished by its compact, semi-upright habit and variegated foliage, with dark green leaf margins and a smooth, slightly shiny upper surface contrasting with a very shiny underside.
In the Garden
Reaching approximately 6 inches (15.2 cm) in diameter and 4 inches (10.2 cm) in height, this miniature hosta is well-suited for rock gardens, troughs, or the front of a shaded border. It performs best in partial to full shade and pairs effectively with other small perennials such as miniature ferns or *Heuchera* cultivars. Its modest size makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, applying a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, monitor for slug and deer damage, particularly in shaded, moist locations.
