Overview
Registered in 1991 by R. Stephens, this giant variegated hosta is a hybrid of *H.* 'Wolcott' (pod parent) and *H. montana* (pollen parent). It is distinguished by its large, dark green leaves with medium undulations along the margins, a cordate base, and 14 to 15 pairs of veins.
In the Garden
'Hosta 'Tucker Friendly Folk' reaches a mature spread of 64 inches (162.6 cm) and a height of 24 inches (61.0 cm), making it suitable for use as a bold specimen or groundcover in partial to full shade. Its substantial size pairs well with ferns, astilbes, and other shade-tolerant perennials. It is not suited for container cultivation due to its giant dimensions.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. This cultivar is susceptible to slug and deer damage, requiring protection in areas where these pests are prevalent.
