Overview

Registered in 1979 by P. Aden, this medium-sized cultivar resulted from a cross between *Hosta* 'Blue Vision' and *Hosta* 'True Blue'. It is distinguished by its blue-green foliage with intensely blue leaf margins, a trait inherited from its parentage.

In the Garden

Mature plants reach approximately 36 inches (91.4 cm) in height and 42 inches (106.7 cm) in diameter, making them suitable for mid-border positions or as specimen plants in partial to full shade. The 12-inch-long, 5-inch-wide leaves with 16 vein pairs provide substantial texture that pairs well with ferns, *Heuchera*, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size allows for use in mixed woodland gardens or as a groundcover in shaded areas.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, particularly during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most blue-leaved hostas, this cultivar is susceptible to slug damage and deer browsing, requiring protective measures in areas where these pests are prevalent.
