H. ‘Trixi’

Overview

Registered in 2006, *Hosta* 'Trixi' is a miniature cultivar of unknown parentage. It is visually distinctive for its compact mound of ovate, medium green leaves edged with narrow, creamy white margins, and its relatively tall green scapes.

In the Garden

This miniature hosta forms a dense, fast-growing mound reaching approximately 9 inches (23 cm) in diameter and 5 inches (13 cm) in height. It is well-suited for the front of shaded borders, rock gardens, or trough plantings, and performs reliably in typical hosta-growing zones. Its small stature makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation, where it can be paired with other diminutive woodland perennials such as miniature ferns or *Heuchera*.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in full sun exposures. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Trixi' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
