Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek, *Hosta* 'Trill' is a large, fast-growing hybrid of *Hosta* 'Donahue Piecrust' and *Hosta* 'Green Piecrust'. It is distinguished by its medium green leaves with heavily rippled margins, a slightly shiny surface on both sides, and a narrowly ovate shape with a cordate base.
In the Garden
'Trill' reaches a mature spread of 48 inches (121.9 cm) and a height of 21 inches (53.3 cm), with an upright habit. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, where its large, textured leaves provide a bold groundcover effect. Companion plants include ferns, *Heuchera*, and *Astilbe*; its size makes it appropriate for mid-border or specimen placement.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor regularly and apply controls as needed.
