Overview

Registered in 2008 by A. Birks and Briggs Nursery, *Hosta* 'Trifecta' is a small sport of *Hosta* 'Little Sunspot'. It is distinguished by three distinct leaf colors: a creamy white center streaked with greenish yellow, framed by medium green margins. The plant also exhibits a fasciated flowering characteristic, an uncommon trait in hostas.

In the Garden

'H Trifecta' forms a compact mound 8 inches (20.3 cm) tall and 12 inches (30.5 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. Its small size and ovate, lightly wavy leaves make it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings in typical hosta-growing zones. It pairs well with other small perennials such as heucheras or ferns, and benefits from morning sun or bright, dappled shade to maintain leaf color.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, protect from slugs and deer, which may damage the foliage.
