Registered in 2013, *Hosta* 'Tremont Afterglow' is a small-sized cultivar of unknown parentage (pollen parent) from the pod parent *H. 'Atom Smasher'*. It is visually distinguished by its green leaves with greenish-yellow margins, lance-shaped with cordate bases, and notably folded, wavy leaf surfaces.

In the Garden

This compact hosta forms a mound 11 inches (27.9 cm) tall and 16 inches (40.6 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones, where its wavy, margined foliage provides textural contrast. Its small size makes it appropriate for rock gardens, container plantings, or the front of shaded borders, where it pairs well with other small perennials such as ferns or heucheras.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during the growing season, particularly in warmer exposures. Fertilize in early spring as new growth emerges. As with most hostas, slug and deer damage may occur; monitor and manage as needed.
