Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'Grand Tiara' registered in 1998, 'Topaz Tiara' is a small hosta distinguished by its green leaves with gold margins. The foliage measures 4 inches (10.2 cm) in length and 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) in width, with 7 to 8 pairs of veins, a rounded base, and a dull surface on both sides.

In the Garden

'Topaz Tiara' is suited for partial to full shade, typical of most hostas. As a small cultivar, it reaches a mature size of approximately 6 to 8 inches in height and 12 to 18 inches in spread. It works well in rock gardens, as edging along borders, or in containers. Companion plants include ferns, heucheras, and small shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring. Like many hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor and manage as needed.
