H. ‘Tiny Bubbles’

Hosta ‘Tiny Bubbles’ is a registered cultivar () .

Year registered2008
Section classIV-3

Overview

Registered in 2008, this small hosta cultivar produces narrowly ovate, slightly twisted leaves in green with gold margins, the foliage exhibiting a lightly folded and moderately wavy habit. Its distinctive closed flowers are lavender with a reddish base, borne on greenish-yellow scapes reaching 21 to 23 inches (53.3–58.4 cm) in height.

In the Garden

With a mature spread of 16 inches (40.6 cm) and height of 8 inches (20.3 cm), 'Tiny Bubbles' forms a compact mound suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or as edging along pathways. It performs best in partial to dappled shade, typical of most hostas, and its small stature makes it an excellent candidate for container cultivation. Pair with fine-textured shade perennials such as ferns or heucheras to complement its narrow, gold-margined leaves.

Care Notes

Water regularly to maintain consistent soil moisture, particularly during dry spells, and apply a balanced slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so monitor and protect as needed in typical hosta-growing zones.
