Registered in 2000, this small hosta is a hybrid of *Hosta* 'Color Fantasy'. Its distinctive variegation consists of medium green leaves with streaked margins, creating a patterned appearance that sets it apart from more uniformly colored cultivars.

In the Garden

'Hosta' reaches a mature size of approximately 10 inches (25.4 cm) in height and 22 inches (55.9 cm) in diameter, with a moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and its compact dimensions make it suitable for the front of borders, rock gardens, or container plantings. Companion plants might include small ferns or shade-tolerant groundcovers that do not overwhelm its modest stature.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture during dry periods, particularly in the first growing season. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, it may be susceptible to slug and deer damage in garden settings.
