Overview

Registered in 2009 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Dust Devil', 'The Devil's Edge' is a medium-sized hosta distinguished by its blue-green leaves with narrow, pale green margins. The leaf surface is dull with a thin glaucous bloom on the underside, and the margins are flat, measuring 0.3 to 0.5 cm wide.

In the Garden

This cultivar forms a slow-growing, mound-like clump reaching 91.4 cm (36 in) in diameter and 40.6 cm (16 in) in height. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for shaded borders, woodland gardens, or as a groundcover in moderate shade. Its medium size and muted coloration pair well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. 'The Devil's Edge' is susceptible to slug and deer damage, so protective measures may be necessary in areas where these pests are prevalent.
