Overview
Registered in 2000 as a sport of *Hosta* 'Gold Regal', 'Thanksgiving' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with creamy white margins and upright growth habit. The leaves are greenish yellow with a 1-inch-wide, slightly rippled creamy white margin, a glaucous bloom on the underside, and a rounded base, reaching 7.5 inches in length and 4.5 inches in width with 11 vein pairs.
In the Garden
'Thanksgiving' forms a clump 20 inches in diameter and 12 inches in height, with an upright habit and moderate growth rate. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of hosta-growing zones, and pairs well with ferns, heucheras, and other shade-tolerant perennials. Its medium size makes it suitable for border fronts, woodland gardens, or container plantings.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as growth emerges. Slugs and deer may damage foliage; monitor regularly and use appropriate controls if needed.
