Overview

A sport of *Hosta* 'English Sunrise' registered in 2006, 'Teatime' is a medium-sized cultivar distinguished by its blue-green leaves with golden yellow margins. The ovate, lightly wavy foliage exhibits a glaucous bloom on both surfaces early in the season, with dark green centers and flat, 0.5-inch-wide margins.

In the Garden

'Teatime' forms a slow-growing, mound-like clump reaching 16 inches (40.6 cm) in height and 36 inches (91.4 cm) in diameter. It performs best in partial to full shade, typical of most hostas, and is suitable for shaded borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen in mixed perennial beds. Its medium size and slow growth make it appropriate for smaller garden spaces or container culture.

Care Notes

Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Like most hostas, 'Teatime' is susceptible to slug and deer damage; monitor regularly and employ control measures if necessary.
