Overview
Registered in 2009 by K. Walek of the American Hosta Society, *Hosta* 'Tea and Crumpets' is a small-sized cultivar derived from a seedling (81-9-2) crossed with *H.* 'Crepe Suzette'. It is visually distinctive for its nearly round, medium green leaves with creamy yellow to white margins that are slightly rippled and moderately corrugated.
In the Garden
This small hosta reaches a mature height of 8 inches (20.3 cm) and a spread of 20 inches (50.8 cm), forming a compact, mound-like clump. It is suitable for partial to full shade in typical hosta-growing zones and works well in rock gardens, container plantings, or as a front-of-border accent. Its small size and rounded leaves pair effectively with fine-textured groundcovers or other miniature hostas.
Care Notes
Provide consistent moisture, especially during dry periods, and apply a balanced fertilizer in early spring as new growth emerges. Slugs may damage the foliage, and deer may browse the leaves in areas where they are present.
