Hosta "Stargazer" review
Hosta 'Stargazer' is a 2012 Plant Delights introduction that is both interesting from a genetic perspective and attractive from a garden point of view. Hosta 'Stargazer' began life from a Hosta 'Beatrice' seedling that was crossed with Hosta yingeri, then crossed with the tetraploid Hosta ventricosa 'Aureomarginata'. The dark green glossy leaves are surrounded by a wide creamy border that brightens as the season progresses. The clumps are topped with 2' flower spikes of spider-type purple flowers in June (NC).
