Hosta "Showboat" review
14" tall. Light Shade. Cream margins on dark green leaves. Margins often tend to streak toward the middle of the leaf. Flowers in June. Dark green with creamy white margin. Broad and elongated. Edges turn upward like a long boat shape. This 1993 hybrid of Hosta 'Christmas Tree' from the Lachmans has long and wide dark green leaves surrounded by a wide creamy white margin. The slightly glossy leaves have upturned edges forming "leaf canoes"... hence the name Hosta 'Showboat'. Each 30" wide clump is topped with 2' tall scapes of pale lavender flowers in late spring. Rounded, dark green leaves with a wide, creamy white margin. Pale lavender flowers. The dark green base is the perfect background for showing off the creamy white margins. An excellent contrast. Good substance. Lavender flowers. Another great plant from the Lachman's--dark green leaf surrounded by a wide creamy white margin. This one has great substance and will make a wonderful specimen. Lavender flowers.
