Hosta "Sayuri" review
This open growing hosta is one of my favorites. I love the influence of hypoleuca from its maternal grandparent. The pod parent is 'Azure Snow'. The pollen parent is just as stately. It is 'Chopsticks'. So, I have this seedling with elephant ear type grey green leaves showing off her intensely purple legs and white undergarments when the leaf is flipped back only to be crowned with those spiky flower scapes and open striped flowers. I'm telling you this one has pedigree and qualities fit for the elite. The name is meant to remind me of the beautiful fictional geisha created in a recent fictional novel.
