Hosta "Sails Ho" review
Streaked breeder:* Sterile? Ran Lydell's 'Sails Ho' is a plant that always gets the star treatment first in the spring. When most hostas are just a promise of the colors they will soon show, 'Sails Ho' is the prettiest thing in the garden when the hostas are unfurling. 'Sails Ho' is a stable form of a streaked 'Krossa Regal' found by Pete Ruh. Rarely offered by any nurseries. It forms a fairly large plant that's about 2/3 the size of 'Krossa Regal'. Soon after unfurling the glorious nearly pure white centers slowly begin to be covered in tiny specks of green like the reverse of a snowfall as the spring wears on.
