Hosta "Regal Rhubarb" review
Upright leaves, open habit. Bright red petioles. Pale lavender flowers in July. Hard to find. Red petiole stems. Red stems, upright. Large upright plant, leaves deep green with bright purple-red petioles. Flowers pale lavendar. Deep green leaves with bright red petioles form a clump with an open and upright growing habit. Pale lavender flowers in midsummer. This is a plant from Van Sellers who did some very interesting hybridizing back in the 80's. It's probably an open-pollenated nigrescens seedling chosen for it's strongly red petioles. Available off and on, it is a good plant for working with red color in hybridizing.
