For a mediovariegated plant, 'Lakeside Love Affaire' grows to an amazing size. Its heavy substance supports a large white center that is bordered by two shades of green. The upright flaring growth gracefully towers over lower-growing varieties. Its name implies a passionate attachment, which certainly describes the situation. It is a 1997 introduction with ovate leaves having a cordate base. The parentage is Hosta "Lakeside seedling" x Hosta "Lakeside seedling." [MC]. Large, I have been very pleased with this tri-colored hosta. Its upright growth habit provides great garden sculpture. The beautiful white centered leaf is bordered by two distinct shades of green.
