Ranch Elderberry is the best choice for growing in extreme climates. The plants are short and easily harvested. The stems are strong and shorter in stature than other cultivars, growing about five feet tall. Clusters of fruits may also be found in the midst of the stems to the top. The plants grow in most soil types and are the most tolerant to non-fertile soils. Elderberry Bush is a flowering, suckering, multi-stemmed, deciduous small shrub or tree. Clusters of fragrant, lemon-scented, tiny white flowers appear at the end of the branches attracting the areas butterflies, bees and hummingbirds seeking nectar.
